Asian Table Tennis Championships 2021 TV Info, India Schedule, Squad, Events, Venue

Asian Table Tennis Championships 2021 is a table tennis tournament scheduled to be held from 28 September to 5 October in Lusail Sports Arena in Doha, Qatar. Qatar Table Tennis Association has announced that Watar will stage the 2021 Men’s and Women’s Asian Table Tennis Championships. The decision was confirmed following the withdrawal of China and India who were part of the bidding race. It will be the second time Qatar will host the championships having previously staged it in 2000.

Asian Table Tennis Championships 2021 Live Streaming + TV Channels Details, Broadcast Rights

So far no TV partner confirmed by Asian Table Tennis Championships 2021 organising body, so there will be no live telecast in India, while viewers can watch live streaming of the Asian Table Tennis Championships 2021 via Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU)’s official YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Indian players schedule at the Asian Table Tennis Championships 2021

The singles and doubles events will be played in the knockout format. Veteran Sharath Kamal and Tokyo Olympian Sathiyan Gnanasekaran will lead the men’s charge while Sutirtha Mukherjee is the senior player among the women.

Sharath Kamal is seeded fifth and G Sathiyan is seeded sixth for the men’s singles while as a pair, they are seeded seventh in the men’s doubles. The pair of Harmeet Desai/Manav Thakkar are seeded sixth in the men’s doubles and Manav Thakkar/Archana Kamath are seeded sixth in the mixed doubles.

Tuesday, September 28: 1st division – men’s team and women’s team

Wednesday, September 29: 1st division and champions division – men’s team and women’s team

Thursday, September 30: champions division – men’s team and women’s team; mixed doubles

Friday, October 1: champions division – men’s team; women’s singles, mixed doubles, men’s doubles

Saturday, October 2: men’s and women’s singles; men’s and women’s doubles; mixed doubles

Sunday, October 3: men’s and women’s singles; men’s and women’s doubles

Monday, October 4: women’s singles; men’s doubles; mixed doubles

Tuesday, October 5: men’s singles; women’s doubles

The Table Tennis competition will kick off with the men’s and women’s team events. The team events have two categories – the 1st division and the champions division.

The top-six teams from the 2019 edition will be slotted in the champions division. The rest of the teams will be drawn in groups of three or four in the 1st division. After a round-robin group stage, group winners will play in a knockout system, with the 1st division winners and runners-up being promoted to the champions division.

The eight teams in the champions division will then play in a knockout format, starting with the quarter-finals.
