Date: August 21, 2020
Match: Trinbago Knight Riders vs Jamaica Tallawahs, 6th T20
Venue: Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad
Time: 03:00 AM IST, 09:30 PM GMT, 05:30 PM LOCAL

Prediction: According to us, Jamaica Tallawahs likely to win the match

  • Jamaica Tallawahs have added two top spinners to provide them an outstanding bowling attack
  • Jamaica Tallawahs have more strength than any other side in the Caribbean Premier League 2020

The Trinbago Knight Riders succeeded in their first match with an exemplary display from Sunil Narine. He bowled very well and then batted pretty blazingly to pull-off a difficult chase. The playing eleven that TKR began with is very well-adjusted. It has a deep batting order and lots of excellent bowling choices. Perhaps the batting position of Tim Siefert was the only genuine concern since he is batting down the order. Lendl Simmons looked weak in the opening match and is going to be under pressure to defend his place. Sunil Narine is going to be peppered with some short balls upfront from some genuinely fast bowlers. Colin Munro, Darren Bravo, and Kieron Pollard are likely to give the real push for TKR in the batting area in this match. The bowling for TKR was not the most effective in the previous match. Sunil Narine did well but Ali Khan, Fawad Ahmed, and Dwayne Bravo are just the kind of bowlers that could come in for a hiding against the JT power-hitters, it could require some modifications before TKR finds its best balance.

No team has more power in its batting than the Jamaica Tallawahs, in terms of six-hitting, strike-rate, and even depth. The big-hitters just keep on coming with Carlos Brathwaite slated to bat at number seven. The uncertainty here is whether the Jamaica Tallawahs have too much of a great thing. None of their batsmen are the kind to rotate the strike and hunker down if the circumstance demands. Maybe Glenn Phillips and Jermaine Blackwood could produce that sort of balance. The addition of two quality-spinners to the bowling lineup gives the Jamaica Tallawahs a lot of confidance. Mujeeb ur Rehman and Sandeep Lamichhane are all but sure to start and will test any player. If Oshane Thomas, Andre Russell, and Fidel Edwards can utilize the short ball well against TKR, the Jamaica Tallawahs have an opportunity to defeat. Andre Russell, the big man is coming into CPL 2020 well-rested and fully fit. He has already said that this is his last season with the Tallawahs and so we just hope he is excited to showcase his best form. Jamaica Tallawahs have sufficient power hitters to keep going for the whole 20 overs.

TKR Possible XI: Sunil Narine, Lendl Simmons, Colin Munro, Tim Seifert(WK), Darren Bravo, Kieron Pollard(C), DJ Bravo, Sikandar Raza, Fawad Ahmed, M Ali Khan, and Jayden Seales.

JT Possible XI: Chadwick Walton(WK), Glenn Philips, Nicholas Kirton, Rovman Powell(C), Andre Russell, Asif Ali, Carlos Brathwaite, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Sandeep Lamichchane, Veerasammy Permaul, and Oshane Thomas
