Star India win five-year global media rights of IPL – Indian Premier League till 2022. The ‘global media rights’ include the Indian television, digital as well as the overseas broadcast and digital media rights. The global television and digital media rights, except the Indian sub-continent, have been clubbed together and will be available for a period of five years. “The rest of world is grouped into different territories – for each of them, television and digital rights are clubbed together.
Sky Sports has become the home of the Dream11 Indian Premier League 2020 in the UK and Ireland. All 60 matches of the 2020 IPL will be shown live on Sky Sports, after the company acquired the UK and Ireland TV broadcast rights for the tournament for the next three years. UK viewers will be able to watch all 60 of the matches exclusively live on Sky Sports. Star India announced that Hotstar now officially available in the United Kingdom and United States of America, and Indian Premier League (IPL T20) matches streamed online on the digital platform for viewers. IPL 2020 will be available to subscribers in the two countries via Hotstar with a with subscription fees in two tiers – annually and monthly.
Cricket viewers in the United States can watch Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) live coverage on Willow TV, and SuperSport will telecast live coverage of Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL 13) in South Africa; all matches live streamed on the SuperSport digital platform (Website, App). Cricket viewers in Canada can watch IPL 12 on Willow TV and Sky Sports Cricket to broadcast live coverage in the United Kingdom. Dream11 IPL 2020 will be played from 19th September and the final will be played on 10th November 2020. The 53-day tournament will witness 10-afternoon matches starting at 15:30 IST while the evening matches will start at 19:30 IST. The Governing Council also discussed the comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which will be finalized and published in due course, including the agencies to execute and deliver a bio-secure environment for the safe and successful conduct of the IPL 2020 Season. The Governing Council also reviewed the Player Regulations for replacement player for the 2020 season. Women’s T20 Challenge will also take place in the UAE and will comprise three teams with four matches to be played during the IPL Playoff week.
